I have been wanting to take my family camping for a long time now. My husband, however, is not too keen on the idea. He is ,well- disturbed by wildlife. So, the very idea of sleeping in a tent, on the ground (gasp!) does not sit well with him. I camped as a kid alllll the time!! I never had an air mattress or a fancy travel trailer. We had tents. period. So, in an effort to put him at ease, I suggested several ideas. This one was my favorite. The Shady Dell trailer park. Where you can "camp" in these lovely vintage airstreams. Sadly, I found out that kids under 10 are not allowed. I might have to buy my own airstream trailer and pack the family up in it. Do they make them big enough for two parents and four kids?? Have any of you been camping lately? Do you do it in a tent? Or in a cushy trailer?

I too love to camp. I haven't been since my son was born. But when the hubby and I used to camp, we slept in a tent. A very BIG tent with two chairs on one end and yes soft bedding and I think we had a propene heater too! haha. So, yes to yuppie camping but no to serious camping. The best part about camping is cooking and eating outdoors and late night camp fires! Can't wait to take my little guy.
