Thundersnow...

This isn't a great photo (I opened the front door a tiny bit and snapped)... but, I wanted to write a bit about the amazing storm we're having here and I couldn't possibly blog without a photo. : )
So... as you may know, I live in the midwest , and right now there is a blizzard on top of us. I like weather. I am sort of geeky. I have been looking outside throughout the day watching the snow swirl into drifts around our house... and just a while ago, there was a flash of light- and then... thunder! We are having what is called Thundersnow. I haven't heard thunder during a snowstorm since I was a kid. How cool!

Happy Solstice!

Although my absences seem more frequent and of longer duration, I assure you, my lovely readers. that as soon as I figure out this new schedule of mine, I'll be right back on track.
I'm wishing you all love and warmth on this, the longest night of the year.

Rainy Hearts...

I know I've been absent for far too long! Everything seems a bit more busy and a lot more hectic around these parts. We are in the second week of the e-course, and that is going well- and my daughters have all kinds of school events happening right now... I haven't even taken down the hearts from the window yet. We have about 6 inches of heavy wet snow on the ground today... and the windows are covered in the melting flakes. I hope all of you are doing well.. and hang in there while I get myself organized!!

Staying warm...

A blanket of 9 inches of snow doesn't exactly keep a person warm. So, a person needs really cute socks to do that for her. Oh, and a down filled comforter. I hope that those of you who are also surrounded by snow and chilling winds have wonderful blankets and socks to keep you warm today.

Snowflake love...

I'm trying to get myself ready for the snowy days to come. I have promised myself to be more joyful and more peaceful this holiday season and throughout the winter. I tend to get slightly Scrooge-ish during the cold months. I am now going to try and find beauty in the cold- snowflakes, sparkly snow covered grass, plenty of time to stay inside and bake cookies, and of course, a fire in the fireplace. What makes you happy in the winter months?
