Better Late than never! Finley's birthday Polaroid. :)

The Neptune.

The neptune inn is where I have stayed during my last two visits to Fort Myers Beach.
They have redone the whole thing and it is so awesome. It is small and lovely (unlike those high rise hotels that I despise), and right on the beach. Our patio looked right out over the water.
No this isn't a sponsored post- I just had a lot of fun there.

This Polaroid is one of my favorites. Yeah I love to get images of my kids on instant film. I can't help it, I think they are stunning. (the kids and the images!)
I can take stunning Polaroids of your stunning kids too if you want. : ) Or of you. Either way I'm delighted.

A long time coming...

I have certainly been neglecting my scanner. I had a short span of time where I was without Polaroid film, but I have some again. And today I am at home with all four of my sick children, so I thought I would take the opportunity to share some photos I have taken since last October.

The Impossible Is Impossible No More!

Today I nervously inserted my first pack of PX100 into my SX-70. I was handling it so delicately- my hands were almost shaking. To those of you who don't share my enthusiasm for Polaroid film and Polaroid photography in general, you may not understand. But I know that there are those of you who DO share my enthusiasm, and you know exactly how I felt. I chose my location- indoors- it was a bit breezy and cool outside this morning, and I was afraid the film wouldn't react well to the temperature. I Composed the shot. I held steady- and held my breath- and fired.
I immediately turned my photo over, and shielded it from the light. I waited 7 minutes. I nervously turned the photo over. There it was! Amazing silvery tones and little white anomalies. Perfect. I am impressed. I will buy more.

Sorting...

Today I got out a box that contains all of my Polaroid photos. I sorted it. I laid them out all over the floor. It was so much fun to look at each one and hold them in my hands. That is one of the things I miss about the days of only having film. Holding the developed photograph in my hands. Now most of my images are stored digitally- in a real, but very intangible thing called an external drive. It's not the same. So I'll probably get these out next month. and sort them. ; )

Photographer Love: Jenifer Altman

I have been a fan of Jenifer Altman's work for several years. Her Polaroids are amazing- and her food photography is incredible. I stalk- or I mean, follow her blog religiously- and I thought I should share with you all that she has recently returned from a trip to Italy, bringing with her a batch of beautiful images- and listed them in her etsy shop! If you have a moment, I highly recommend checking her out- if you haven't already. You won't be sorry.

It's So Early!!!

I got up super early today and decided that I had enough time to show you all a really lovely polaroid I got recently. The colors are so vibrant! I love it how my camera surprises me every time. I am going to try to sneak in posts when I can- but forgive me if they are all my polaroids- it takes time to research all my other finds!!

Missing In Action

I know I haven't been posting regularly- I have been doing a lot of new and demanding tasks as of late. I'm trying to find my new groove and I hope to be back to "normal" (at least as far as my blogging is concerned- heehee) very soon. So here is a silly polaroid I took recently to tide you over!

I went to an outdoor/indoor antique market with my lovely in-laws on Sunday. I got quite a few great images... but this one is my favorite.

What IS my favorite flower?

This morning I was thinking about a flower conversation I recently had with a friend. I asked her what her favorite flower was- it seemed I had forgotten. My favorite flower has most certainly always been the daisy. --- or has it? I think I may have fluctuated over the years... this Polaroid of peonies by Jen Gotch (aka danske via Flickr) makes me wonder... maybe I love peonies more than daisies?
