Butterflies. The vintage variety.
I love the colors in this vintage print. I think I need this on my wall. :)

A peek at my kitchen...
I have a serious thing for vintage owls. My kitchen is full of them. I think my husband puts up with them because at least they are mostly contained to one room- instead of taking over the whole house. Luckily, I have super tacky honey oak cabinets that lend to the 70s feeling of my owl decor. It's quirky, it's kitschy, it's fun. And when I decide to change it (maybe never) I will have a ton of cool owl stuff to save for my kids. What are your decorating weaknesses?

Camping...
I have been wanting to take my family camping for a long time now. My husband, however, is not too keen on the idea. He is ,well- disturbed by wildlife. So, the very idea of sleeping in a tent, on the ground (gasp!) does not sit well with him. I camped as a kid alllll the time!! I never had an air mattress or a fancy travel trailer. We had tents. period. So, in an effort to put him at ease, I suggested several ideas. This one was my favorite. The Shady Dell trailer park. Where you can "camp" in these lovely vintage airstreams. Sadly, I found out that kids under 10 are not allowed. I might have to buy my own airstream trailer and pack the family up in it. Do they make them big enough for two parents and four kids?? Have any of you been camping lately? Do you do it in a tent? Or in a cushy trailer?

Vintage fans are so sweet.
Isn't this the greatest? I inherited it from an awesome friend. I had to immortalize it with Polaroid. Happy Wednesday!

A happy deer...

Hello lovelies! I took this shot today of a recent vintage find- isn't she cute??? The roses are wilting fast, but they match her ears perfectly! I hope you all are enjoying your Thursday. I'm off to go fly a kite...

A Sunday Polaroid...

My Savoy. Definitely on my top 5 list of favorite collectible cameras. I took this in my dining room, which usually has really nice light- but for whatever reason this photo turned out sort of dark. I love it. I think my Savoy was feeling a bit moody that day.

Still Loving: Owls!!

I found this photo in my inspiration folder- and I can't figure out where it came from!! If anyone out there knows, please tell me so I can properly give credit.
I still love owls. I know they made their big comeback a while ago- but I have always been into them. I hope their reign in the art/fashion/craft world lasts for a long time.
Do you have any of these vintage style necklaces? I have two that I got on ebay about 2 years ago.
I remember my grandma wearing a Huge one when I was a kid. It had ruby eyes and I loved it.
I'm so influenced by childhood memories. : )

Vintage Find: Tea Cups (and snack plates)

Aren't these sweet? Although the leaf design is a bit, um, suspect, I had to have them. The colors of the leaves are so pretty- and the cups incredibly dainty. They almost seem suitable for a child's tea party. The man at the second hand store assured me they were snack plates for ladies' tea parties in the 50s. Whatever their purpose, they now live in my hutch, happily. Have you been thrifting lately?

Vintage Find : Dinnerware
I am in love with this pattern on this plate I recently thrifted. The colors are perfect (my favorites) - too bad there was only one!! I can barely contain myself when I find vintage ceramics, dishware or pottery- even old mismatched flatware. I found something else that's spectacular- but I'll save that for tomorrow.

My favorite photo of the day.
As you may know (ok maybe not) I am rarely ever out without my camera. Today was no exception- the girls were outside playing and I had my SX-70 ready to go. I was lucky enough to get this shot. It melts my heart. Enjoy.
